SAMROA AGM & Dinner 2025

The club held it’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday night 12 August, and elected the general committee for 2025/2026.
On behalf of the club we would like to thank the members who have stepped away from committee positions, for their service over the last year/s: Owen Smith, Liam Meegan, Josh Young & Alec Donnon.
We also welcome and wish best of luck to those who have joined the committee for this year: Cathy Sinton, Julie Finn, Kim Morrison & Peter Stevens.

The club also held it’s customary annual handover dinner on Saturday 16 August at the Cooper’s Alehouse in the city, a good time looked to have been had by all!

SAMROA Seeks New Officials

Motorsport can not be run without a passionate group of volunteers willing to put their time into the sport we love, if you count yourself among those who wish to see racing continue to thrive in SA then consider registering your interest in joining SAMROA and assisting us to run events.

Roles range from Flag and Track marshals, Pit, Grid & Paddock, and with experience, even in race control, event command and stewarding. We can also put you in touch with other disciplines such as fire marshals or scrutineers. Links and contacts are available on this website.

Welcome to Season 2024!

Motorsport season for 2024 is now well underway with the first Superkart / Regularity and SA Motor Racing Championship events for the year passed.

The year promises to be a long one with many events, quite a few that on back-to-back weekends. We want to stress to everyone to take care of yourselves this year as it will likely get tough. Of course it’s always easier with more people, so this is the time to get all your other friends involved and out at the track with us.

Remember the more people we can start getting out to events, the easier it also becomes to start training people into other roles, such as Starter, Form Up, Race Control, etc. So if you want to increase and expand your skills as a motorsport official have a think about what we can all do to get some fresh faces out and around SAMROA.

End of Motorsport Season 2023

With the successful running of the VAILO Adelaide 500, that marks the end of the 2023 SA motorsport season. The committee would like to extend a very big thank you to to all our members who have volunteered at events this year, SAMROA always strives to provide the best quality officiating we can muster and none of that can happen without you!

All members are welcome to join us for our last General Meeting, Wednesday 13th December from 7:30 pm, at the Kent Town Hotel for a well deserved chance to swap stories on all that has happened this year.

Other than that we would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you all back fresh and ready for 2024.

Upcoming Events – The Bend Classic

Cathy is on the hunt for more officials to help staff this weekend’s ‘The Bend Classic’ 28-29 October.

There should be an interesting assortment of machinery to check out, and is likely to be a nice easy, low stress event, and with temps in the high 20’s should be a good day or two out in the sun!
